Powell to Be Honored by St. Andrews

One of the most respected woman golfers of the last 40 years is to be honored by the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Renee Powell, a pioneering player, coach, educator and goodwill ambassador will be awarded an honorary degree by the university this summer.

Inverness Club to Host 2011 U.S. Senior Open

The USGA will hold the 2011 U.S. Senior Open at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, July 28-31. Inverness, a Donald Ross-designed golf course which opened in 1903, will be hosting its seventh USGA championship and second Senior Open.

Ohio Golf Hall of Fame Inducts New Members

PGA Life Member William Powell, his daughter Renee, both of East Canton, Ohio, and the late Rod Myers, a PGA master professional and 34-year Duke University men's coach, form the 2007 class of inductees into the Ohio Golf Hall of Fame. The ceremony was conducted August 6, at Plum Brook Country Club in Sandusky, Ohio.

Renee Powell to Establish Youth Exchange Visits to St. Andrews

When Renee Powell stepped up to receive the inaugural Rolex For the Love of the Game Award at the Kraft Nabisco championship in Palm Springs on March 27th, she was cheered on by the big crowd gathered for the LPGA Tour's first major of the season. Also in attendance in the packed auditorium was a special guest who had crossed the Atlantic Ocean to be present.
