Players Club at Deer Creek Moves toward Private Status

Combining nine new holes with a new pool complex, fitness room and other improvements, the Players Club at Deer Creek in Omaha has doubled its membership and will soon convert from a public to a private facility. Named among the top 10 courses in Nebraska by Golf Digest in 2004-05, the Players Club is taking measures to position itself for a bright future.

Dismal River Club Opens in Nebraska

On August 5, Jack Nicklaus will be in Mullen, Neb., for the opening of his 250th golf course design. The first 18 holes at Dismal River Club occupy a stretch of the Nebraska Sandhills. Though located thousands of miles from either the Pacific or Atlantic oceans, the rolling, grass-covered dunes accurately mimic the seaside links of Scotland and Ireland.

Sand Hills GC to Have Neighbors

The much-heralded Sand Hills Golf Club in Mullen, Neb., will soon have two neighboring golf courses that will seek to take advantage of the rolling topography that golf architects love about this part of America. Construction is about to begin on one of the layouts, while the other is in preliminary planning.
