Work Underway at The Golf Resort at Indian Wells

On November 15th, the City of Indian Wells will host a groundbreaking reception to kick off its $45 million project at The Golf Resort at Indian Wells. Two new18-hole golf courses, practice facility and clubhouse will be constructed over a two-year period from November of 2005 to November of ‘07.
The West Course has already begun the first stages of construction with completion scheduled for November of 2006. Golf course architect Clive Clark was called on to design the new West Course; during its construction, the original Ted Robinson-designed East Course will remain open to accommodate play. John Fought was retained to design the new East Course. Construction begins on it in November of 2006 (when the new West Course opens), and the new East golf course will be ready for play in November of 2007.
Additional amenities will include an expansive practice area, construction of a 30,000-square-foot, Douglas Fredrikson-designed clubhouse with banquet facilities, and a reconfiguration of the resort’s entry to improve connectivity to other resorts. The entire project is scheduled for completion in December of 2007.
