Woods, Mickelson & Scott Paired in First Two Rounds of Open

The featured group at the 2008 U.S. Open will contain the top three players in the world. No. 1-ranked Tiger Woods and No. 2 Phil Mickelson will be paired in the first two rounds of the second major championship of the year.

Woods and Mickelson will be joined by No. 3 Adam Scott of Australia. On Thursday the threesome will tee off at 8:06 a.m. at the par-71, 7,643-yard, Torrey Pines Golf Course (South) in San Diego, Calif. On Friday, their tee time will be at 1:36 p.m.

Woods has been recovering from surgery on his left knee. On Wednesday he played his first round of golf since the operation after the Masters. He played 17 holes at Torrey Pines while riding in a cart. Woods halted his round after seeing a small group of people with cameras waiting around the 18th green.
