Weeks Wins WSWGA Championship


Flora Weeks won the 90th annual Washington State Women's Golf Association Amateur Championship at Sand Point Country Club in Seattle, edging five-time champion Leslie Folsom 2 & 1 in the 36-hole championship match.

Weeks, playing out of Overlake Golf & Country Club in Bellevue, closed out the tight match Friday on the par-5 17th hole after she made a three-foot par putt.

Weeks is a 2012 graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont, where she was a three-time conference champion and a two-time Division 3 All-American. She will be heading to Nevada City, Calif., to teach environmental science at the local high school.
