Two in a Row for Schwartzel in Alfred Dunhill Championship
Though it wasn't the 12-stroke romp he enjoyed last year, Charl Schwartzel still didn't have much difficulty again winning the Alfred Dunhill Championship, the second event of the European Tour's new season.
The 2011 Masters champion closed with a 4-under 68 at Leopard Creek Country Club in Malelane, South Africa to finish at 17-under 271, four shots ahead of England's Richard Finch (70) and seven clear of Simon Dyson (67), Ross Fisher (69) and Romain Wattel (71).
Schwartzel had four birdies on the day and the rest pars, allowing him to cruise home for his ninth European Tour title.
"I had that hiccup in the first round through 17 and the first hole, and after that pretty much flawless with no bogeys from there on in," he said.
"Most of the time if you play 60 holes or whatever it may be without bogey then hopefully you'll win. It's always nice to get a win and get some confidence up."
