The Village Golf Club to Receive Improvements
Panorama Village and Billy Casper Golf (“BCG”) today announce that BCG has been selected to manage the 27-hole, newly-named, The Village Golf Club, located 30 miles north of Houston in Conroe.
Under terms of the multi-year agreement, BCG will provide management services including clubhouse operations, course maintenance, financial management, merchandising, food and beverage, staffing and training, and marketing and public relations.
BCG won the contract over several national competitors. The course adds to the company’s nationwide portfolio, which now encompasses 52 properties in 19 states and the District of Columbia. The semiprivate facility is BCG’s first managed property in Texas.
“Billy Casper Golf is excited about partnering with Panorama Village in helping The Village Golf Club realize its full potential,” says Peter Hill, Chief Executive Officer of BCG. “BCG’s sound, proven operations and management systems enable us to meet and implement the objective of providing residents and area golfers an enhanced overall experience.”
BCG plans at The Village Golf Club call for rebuilding nine greens on the Winged Foot Course and re-grassing the putting surfaces with “Miniverde,” a new strand of Bermuda grass. In addition, there are plans to remodel the banquet hall and kitchen, create a separate golfer lounge area, purchase new course equipment and cart fleet, structure a new membership pricing plan and undertake other course conditioning and facility beautification programs.
In addition to these capital enhancements, BCG will direct the implementation of a new POS system, a comprehensive marketing plan, online tee-time reservations, an expanded food and beverage calendar, as well as staff training and community involvement programming.
“We are excited to have engaged Billy Casper Golf to manage The Village Golf Club,” says Panorama Village Mayor Howard L. Kravetz. “The company has a proven track record of operating golf courses with strong customer service and financial returns to their ownerships.”
The Village Golf Club’s three nine-hole courses can be played in three 18-hole combinations, presenting golfers with a wide variety of options. The Winged Foot Course, with its narrow fairways and mid-size greens, is the longest of the three at 3,443 yards and features the most elevation change.
The Rolling Hills Course – sporting larger fairways and fast, small greens – is the most scenic of the three, with lakes coming into play on several holes of its 3,336-yard layout. The Thunderbird Course presents golfers with narrow fairways and a set of par-5s that are reachable in two for the average player.
