Sun Mountain Named Official Bag, Outerwear & Walking Cart
May 8, 2012. Sun Mountain has announced the continuation of its six-year partnership with the "Road to the LPGA" as the Official Bag and Outerwear of the Symetra Tour. New for the 2012, the Symetra Tour will allow the use of push carts in competition and Sun Mountain is proud to also be the tour's inaugural Official Walking Cart. In its partnership role, Sun Mountain will be naming a Symetra Tour Players' Advisory Council, will conduct a golf bag trade-in program at several tour events and will continue the end of the season Sun Mountain Skills Summit.
President of Sun Mountain, Ed Kowachek said, "Sun Mountain applauds the decision by the Symetra Tour to join the increasing number of developmental tours, college conferences, and high schools that allow the use of walking carts in competition. As the official bag, outerwear and now cart; we are thrilled to see these pros on "the Road to the LPGA" use our equipment."
Sun Mountain's Speed Cart was a revolutionary introduction in 1999. Speed Cart's offer golfers an ergonomic, foldable, three-wheeled push cart with no assembly required. The cart is sturdy, perfectly balanced, and positions golfers' backs, arms and shoulders in their most natural positions. Sun Mountain has continually improved upon and added to its line of push carts to now include the collection of three-wheeled Speed Carts and the four-wheeled Micro-CartTM.
In addition to their choice of golf push carts, members of the Players Advisory Council will also be carrying Sun Mountain golf bags, and wearing Sun Mountain rain wear, wind wear and thermal wear. Sun Mountain is also outfitting the Symetra Tour road staff with outerwear and is the exclusive golf bag and outerwear in the Symetra Tour online pro shop.
"Sun Mountain is a very good partner of the Symetra Tour - Road to the LPGA and provides our players the very best equipment so they can play their best," said Symetra Tour CEO Zayra Calderon. "The Sun Mountain golf bag exchange program and Sun Mountain Skills Summit are two programs that our players look forward to every year and greatly appreciate."
The Symetra Tour is the most established women's developmental tour in the world, entering 32 years of structured competition in 2012. The Symetra Tour is known as "the Road to the LPGA" and since 1999, it has been designated as the LPGA's developmental tour. The Symetra Tour annually awards LPGA membership to its top players. A total of 77 players have automatically "graduated" since 1999. Among the tour's top alums are Lorena Ochoa, Cristie Kerr, Karrie Webb, Christina Kim and Meg Mallon.
For 30 years Sun Mountain has been a pioneer in the golf industry, revolutionizing golf bags, golf outerwear and golf carts. Sun Mountain's many innovations, including the first lightweight golf bag and modern stand bag, have made it the top golf bag company in North America. Within golf outerwear, Sun Mountain redefined golf-specific performance first with the windshirt, then fleece, and again with its four-way stretch, waterproof, and breathable rainwear. The Sun Mountain Speed CartŪ golf push cart transformed walking carts and created an entirely new category of golf products. Sun Mountain's "Ahead of Time Design" motto drives the company to continually design and refine golf equipment.
