Stockton Seaview Reopens Bay Course
Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club in Galloway, N.J., has reopened its Bay Course following a remodel. The layout is the annual site of the ShopRite LPGA Classic. This year's tournament will be held May 30 through June 1.
The renovation included new tees on the fourth, fifth, 10th and 12th holes, which will stretch the course another 150 yards. A new bunker complex was added between the fourth and fifth holes.
Additional work involved rebuilding all existing tee boxes and surfaces; new GPS units in the golf carts; redesigned tee signs, markers and in-ground tee and fairway yardage plates; and new retro-wooden bunker rakes and pin flags.
The 36-hole resort also includes the Pines Course and a variety of overnight accommodations, a spa, and various dining and meeting facilities.
"For local golfers and golfing travelers visiting the area, Seaview's championship courses, combined with its history of hosting not only the game's best players but hundreds of famed celebrities, athletes and dignitaries, makes it a truly memorable golf experience," said director of golf Kevin DeDonato.
"The course renovation will create a greater playing experience for the ladies of the LPGA, as well as golfers of all levels, and we are very excited that this project is being completed during our centennial in 2014."
