Scott Rises to No. 2 in Rankings

Following his win at The Barclays on Sunday, Adam Scott rose to No. 2 in the latest World Golf Ranking. Still at the top spot is Tiger Woods, who finished in a tie for second at Liberty National Golf Club, a stroke behind Scott.

The victory in New Jersey for the 33-year-old was his second of 2013; his other triumph came in April at the Masters, when he became the first Australian to ever win a green jacket.

Following Scott at No. 3 in the ranking is Phil Mickelson, who ended up tied for sixth at The Barclays after matching Canada's Graham DeLaet for the low final round, a 6-under 65.

Woods, Scott and Mickelson will be paired in the opening round of the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston. The second leg of the four-event FedEx Cup Playoffs will have a rare Friday start, with the final round on Labor Day.

Erstwhile No. 1 Rory McIlroy dropped into fourth place in the latest rankings, while filling out the rest of the top-10 are 2013 U.S. Open champion Justin Rose, Matt Kuchar, Brandt Snedeker, PGA champion Jason Dufner and Graeme McDowell.
