Richland’s Columbia Point

Columbia Point Golf Course in Richland is a public links-style course that opened in 1997. Designed by Jim Engh, the layout contains several tees per hole to meet the needs of golfers of varying abilities. One of the triad of towns – along with Pasco and Kennewick – that comprise Washington’s Tri-Cities, Richland lies within a desert with annual rainfall of around 10 inches. Its moderate climate often finds golfers playing year-round at the local courses.

Many of Columbia Point’s holes are lined by mounds, with a few towering trees also in play. The gently rolling, 6,555-yard layout boasts large greens, with several putting surfaces containing steep slopes and interesting undulations. The greens and tees are bentgrass, while the fairways are a mix of blue grass and rye. Also on hand is a full-service clubhouse, which contains the Columbia Point Café and a bar, a grass-teed driving range, and practice greens.

The facility, operated by IRI Golf, takes reservations 10 days in advance. Columbia Point is tied in to several local hotels and offers affordable stay-and-play packages.
