Renovations Planned for Stone River Golf Club in Texas

Stone River Golf Club, formerly AAKI Ranch International, has announced the development of a new master planned community. The plan calls for 60 golf villa home sites and over 200 lots ranging in size from 7,500 square feet to over 12,500 square feet.
The golf club in Royse City, Texas, and Zyland Investments, Inc. are forming a joint venture to create this expansion, which will feature over 90 percent of the lots built along the course. Current plans are to break ground on the first phase of the new development by January 31, 2007.
Stone River Golf Club has engaged the services of Prime Golf Group of Dallas to manage the operation of the newly-named golf course. Tim McNutt, vice president of Prime Golf Group, revealed that six new golf holes are being designed around a new lake on the west side of the property. Native creeks, hardwood trees and the new lake will act as the focal points along these new fairways and greens. The new holes will be incorporated with existing holes to form a new route for the renovated 18-hole course.
Construction will be timed to have the new holes ready for play by early next summer in order to ensure that there will be no interruption of play.
Stone River Golf Club is located a mile south of Interstate 30 in Royse City and is open for daily-fee play. For more information, visit www.stonerivergolf.com.
