Renovated Eastpointe Country Club to Open in November |
|
Eastpointe Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., will unveil its newly restored private course on November 3. Architect John Sanford from Jupiter, Fla., will be on hand to attend the festivities along with the club's 400 members.
"The entire Eastpointe management team and board of directors are extremely proud of the renovations to the course and the main clubhouse and it's a great time to be part of this club," said Dave Sheldon, recently appointed as Eastpointe's general manager. "The community continues to reposition itself in the Palm Beach market as an outstanding private club with world-class amenities and an affordable lifestyle."
During the restoration directed by superintendent John Spiwak, all the tees were stripped, resized and laser-leveled with Tifway 419 Bermuda grass. The greens were re-grassed with TifEagle Bermuda.
Over 120 yards were added to the par-72 layout, bringing it to 7,011 yards from the tips. The six-month project also involved the restoration of 52 bunkers; the installation of drainage on two fairways; a new wooden bulkhead wall in front of the par-3 8th green; a new wood bridge leading to the 18th island green; and renovations to the men's locker room. Country Club Services of Boca Raton, Fla., oversaw the renovations.
