RBA Group to Update White Beeches Golf & Country Club in New Jersey

White Beeches Golf & Country Club in Haworth, N.J., has retained the RBA Group's Golf Course Design Division for master planning and course renovation services. Improvements to the private, 18-hole golf course, originally designed by Walter J. Travis in 1920, will begin this fall with a bunker restoration.

Lead golf architect John Harvey and assistant designer Matt Condon will oversee the planning and construction process. The bunker restorations will coincide with the first phase of clubhouse renovations, as part of an overall facilities improvement program as recently approved by the members.

Ongoing course improvements will include: reclamation of putting surfaces to recapture original pin areas, selected tee complex improvements, fairway recontouring, tree management, drainage updates and cart path work.

The RBA Group's Golf Course Design Division has also been involved in recent renovations of the Century Country Club, North Jersey CC and Longshore Club Park Golf Club.

"We are pleased to assist White Beeches as their golf architects with the sensitive restoration of its magnificent Travis course," said Harvey, who prior to joining the RBA Group in 2002, worked with Robert Trent Jones, Sr., and Roger G. Rulewich for 15 years. His experience includes co-designing Saratoga National GC, Ballyowen GC and Berkshire Valley.
