Not Your Typical Day at the Lake
Winter is in full effect with frigid temperatures that might dissuade the average person from taking a visit out to Lake Wallenpaupack in Hawley, Pa. But this February, Lake Wallenpaupack offers a unique reason to visit the lake region. On February 27, 2005, the Hawley-Lake Wallenpaupack Chamber of Commerce presents its 17th Annual Ice Tee Golf Tournament.
Golfers, non-golfers, and spectators alike can enjoy nine holes of golf atop frozen Lake Wallenpaupack. Other activities include prizes, giveaways, and the “Closest to Wally” driving contest. The event is held at Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Resort in Hawley, and is co-sponsored by Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Resort and the Banko Beverage Company.
After the tournament, warm up with chili and wings at the 3rd Annual Chili and Wings Cook Off, also at Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Resort on February 27. Judging categories will include first, second, third, and honorable mention with no defining categories for hot, mild, etc. This event will take place even if the Ice Tee Golf Tournament is cancelled due to poor ice conditions.
Visitors can also enjoy great dining, shopping, attractions, and accommodations in and around Lake Wallenpaupack.
