Nike Golf to Debut Fitting Center at Site of 2014 Scottish Open

Nike Golf is set to open its first fitting center to the public. The facility is at Archerfield Links Golf Club in Scotland, site of this week's Scottish Open on the European Tour.

The facility will provide public access to Nike's latest golf technology and club-fitting services. Golfers also will be able to buy sessions from Nike-affiliated coaches, including former Ryder Cup player Andrew Coltart and instructor Gary Nicol.

"Today marks a critical step in our journey as we deliver an experience designed to serve the golfer in fitting and performance," said Nike Golf president Cindy Davis, in a news release.

"It's not enough to simply make great product - we have to serve our consumer with world-class experiences that enable them to unlock their true potential. Our partnership with Archerfield, an authentic site located on Scotland's Golf Coast, does just that."

The facility will offer a range of packages, including a three-day stay that involves personalized clubs that will be custom-built and made available to the golfer on the second day.

Fitting-session prices start at approximately $100 for an hour. A three-day stay at the club costs roughly $1,300, and a round with one of the coaches is around $450.

The center officially opens on July 8. Nike golfer and two-time major winner Rory McIlroy attended a formal announcement of the center on Monday.

"This incredible facility takes club fitting to another level," McIlroy said in a statement. "It's so impressive that Nike is providing the consumer the same type of service that we get as Nike athletes."
