Turtle Dunes Country Club has opened in Acapulco, Mexico. The course designed by Oklahoma-based golf architect Tripp Davis is located with the Princess Diamante master-planned community.

The private club, which is operated by Troon Golf, can also be played by guests staying at the nearby Fairmont Acapulco Princess and The Fairmont Pierre Marques. Also on site are a fitness center and the world's only Lorena Ochoa Golf Academy.
"The opening of Turtle Dunes Country Club comes with much anticipation," said Jim Bellington, Troon's senior vice president, operations and development. "Combining the new championship-style golf course with unmatched amenities and superior customer service positions this property as the most desirable golf destination in the region."
Turtle Dunes stretches 7,250 yards from the tips. It features expansive water features, with its holes framed by towering parota trees. Davis took pains to recreate the rolling sand dunes that once defined a site where a variety of sea turtles once nested and flourished.
On-site amenities include a beach club, restaurant, a large event lawn for private parties and special events, and men's and women's locker rooms. The fitness center has a range of equipment; plans are in the works for a pool with private cabanas and a social ballroom. Tennis and paddle courts are also part of this complex as well as a childrens' activity and educational center.
Turtle Dunes is currently in the founding-member phase, offering 100 founder Diamante memberships and 100 founder Pearl memberships. After the founder Diamante and Pearl memberships are sold out, memberships will only be available only to those who own real estate in Princess Diamante.
