New Private Club Planned for Southwest of Chicago |
|
Ocean Atlantic, a real estate firm based near Washington, D.C., has announced it will be developing Westbury Village, a master-planned residential and golf community located 55 miles southwest of Chicago in Yorkville, Ill.
The centerpiece of the development will be Westbury Country Club, an 18-hole layout designed by Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates. Northbrook, Ill.-based KemperSports Management will oversee development and construction and operate the facility when it opens.
“We are excited to blend our vision with KemperSports’ expertise in golf course development and management to make Westbury a shining reality for Yorkville,” said Michael Ferraguto, Jr., founding partner and managing director of Ocean Atlantic, a firm with extensive real estate development activity in the metropolitan Chicago, Washington/Baltimore and Southern California areas.
“Together, we will create an entertaining, family-oriented atmosphere designed to bring enjoyment to all community residents,” Ferraguto added.
“Our approach is to craft a collection of holes that is varied in character and intrigue but balanced on the whole, with multiple sets of tees to accommodate a range of skill levels,” explained Drew Rogers, senior design partner for Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates. “We’ll take advantage of Westbury’s signature quarry area to create dramatic elevation changes.”
Construction of Westbury Country Club is scheduled to commence this summer, with a planned opening in 2008.
