New Community Announced for Tunica National

Plans have been unveiled for a 268-acre residential and retail development in Tunica, Miss. The master planned community will surround Tunica National Golf and Tennis club, which is off Highway 61 about two miles south of Desoto County.
The $25 million project will be developed by Dunn & Harrell Development, LLC. Matthew Dunn and Cody Harrell – the principals of the development team, are native Mississippians who became acquaintances while attending law school at Ole Miss.
The first phase of development involves the “Champions Landing” gated community, which will be located between the golf course and Champions Lake. Champions Landing will feature golf course frontage and lakeside lots, as well as a private entrance drive through the golf course, a park and a community swimming center.
The master planned community will employ the New Urbanism concept, with pedestrian-friendly streets that encourage walking. In addition, there will be numerous lakes and water features throughout the neighborhoods. Homes in Champions Landing are expected to be priced in the $300,000 range.
