Million-Dollar Facelift Underway at Pebble Creek in Tampa |
|
Tampa’s Pebble Creek Public Golf Club is getting a major facelift. The $1 million project involves new greens and tees, improvements to the clubhouse, and an expanded maintenance and management staff. The enhancements are being implemented by the facility’s new owner, Ace Golf.
Golfers are already seeing immediate improvements in the course, starting with a complete overseeding of tees and greens and a brand-new GPS-equipped golf cart fleet. Future updates are in store for the clubhouse, landscaping, cart path and bridges. Next spring, new Champion Bermudagrass greens and Celebration Bermuda tees will be installed.
As one of Tampa’s oldest courses, the par-71 Pebble Creek is distinguished by its wide fairways and mature oaks. Water enters play on almost every hole. The facility is one of the more affordable golf options in the Tampa area.
Ace Golf is now owned by Tampa residents Bill Place and Su Lee. The company (www.ace-golf.com) has been in the golf business for 12 years, operating golf practice ranges, pro shops, miniature golf courses, and batting cages in Tampa, Brandon and Riverview. The Riverview golf range was recently named one of the top-five new ranges in the country.
