Mickelson, Rose & Scott Headline Field for PGA Championship

The preliminary field for the 95th PGA Championship has been established. Of the 156 players who comprise the strongest field in golf, 114 are exempt into the championship based on current eligibility requirements and those who have registered.

Headlining the field will be the winners of the first three majors of the year: Adam Scott, Masters; Justin Rose (U.S. Open); and Phil Mickelson (Open Championship).

"The full field of 156 players plus alternates will be finalized after July 29," said Ryan Cannon, championship director for the 95th PGA Championship. "Currently, 114 players have committed to play the 2013 PGA Championship."

The Wanamaker Trophy will be contested August 5-11 on the East Course at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y. Over the past three decades, the East Course has hosted the 1980 and 2003 PGA Championships, 1984 U.S. Senior Open, 1989 U.S. Open, 1995 Ryder Cup, 1998 U.S. Amateur, and 2008 Senior PGA Championship. Since the 1956 U.S. Open, Oak Hill is the only golf club in America to host all six of the men's tour championships, and 2013 PGA will mark Oak Hill's 11th premier championship.
