Merrins to Keynote Spirit of Golf Conference

The Spirit of Golf Foundation announced that famed golf instructor Eddie Merrins will be the keynote speaker at its inaugural West Coast Certification Conference. The event will be held July 23-26 in Las Vegas.

Merrins, the head professional at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles and one of the game's most respected instructors for 40 years, will discuss the role of today's golf coaches in growing the game.

The conference is designed to help high school coaches and youth leaders learn how to develop more successful golf programs and maximize the performance of their players. Other speakers include Dr. Darren Treasure, founder of CAI Performance Systems; and Tim Flannery, assistant director of the National Federation of High Schools.

The conference is being conducted in conjunction with the National Federation of High Schools, the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and the Nevada Athletic Directors Association.
