Little Creek Unveils Hotel Addition

Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Wash., a resort owned and operated by the Squaxin Island Indian Tribe, has announced the addition of 98 more rooms, boosting the total number of hotel rooms at the facility to 190.
The new hotel tower is adjacent to the original hotel, which opened in December 2003. The two five-story towers are connected by a ground-floor walkway which resembles the interior of a tribal longhouse. The front desk area is now in the new hotel tower atrium lobby, while the old front desk area is becoming an expanded espresso station.
Work is now underway on a Gene Bates-designed golf course called Salish Cliffs Golf Club. Salish Cliffs Golf Club (www.salishcliffs.com) will be the first completely Indian tribe-owned and -operated golf course in Washington State upon completion in 2009.
"Little Creek Casino Resort, the Squaxin Island Tribe and our first guests to experience the new hotel tower have unanimously expressed great appreciation for our newest resort enhancement," says Ray Peters, executive director of the Squaxin Island Tribe. "The additional rooms will allow us to better accommodate the demand we receive from our growing customer base as well as better jibe with the events, entertainment, conferences and meetings we are booking in our new Skookum Creek Event Center."
The Skookum Creek Event Center opened in summer 2006. Among the acts slated to perform this spring are Comedy at the Creek (April 14), John Michael Montgomery (May 11) and REO Speedwagon (May 12). Other acts who have performed at the resort include Bill Cosby, Terri Clark, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Huey Lewis & the News, Dennis Miller and Jo Dee Messina.
