Last Year for Jeld-Wen Tradition

Jeld-Wen Inc. announced last week it will not renew its contract with the PGA Tour to continue as the title sponsor of the Jeld-Wen Tradition, one of the Champions Tour's majors.

Unless another sponsor is found, the event will be played for the last time August 19-22 at Sunriver Resort's Crosswater Club south of Bend, Ore. The Tradition has been played at that locale every August since 2007. Mike Reid is the defending champion.

The Klamath Falls, Ore.-based windows and doors manufacturer will allow its four-year deal to lapse, likely resulting in the tournament moving from Central Oregon.

"We have enjoyed sponsoring this major championship," said Rod Wendt, president and CEO of Jeld-Wen, in a statement. "We are pleased with the significant financial support the tournament has generated for Oregon charities through the Jeld-Wen Tradition Foundation. It has been an honor to sponsor an event that showcases our beautiful state to television audiences worldwide."
