Havret wins Johnnie Walker Classic |
|
France's Gregory Havret won the Johnnie Walker Classic in Gleneagles, Scotland. Good finishes also enabled Oliver Wilson, Justin Rose and Soren Hansen to secure places on Europe's Ryder Cup team.
Havret closed with a 70 to win by a shot over England's Graeme Storm. He finished at 14-under-par 278. "It was definitely a tough day, in fact a tough day for everybody," Havret said. "It has been tough to avoid mistakes here and I think I did well to get four rounds under par."
Havret, who led at the end of each round, added this title to his Scottish Open victory last year. Swede Peter Hanson and former European Ryder Cupper David Howell finished tied for third.
The win was worth approximately $600,000 for Havret.
