Former NFL Wide Receiver Cris Carter to Host 6th Annual Charity Golf Classic

Carter Brothers Charities will host its 6th Annual Charity Golf Classic Sunday and Monday, June 7 and 8, at Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga.

Carter Brothers Charities, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed by former NFL superstar Cris Carter, and his brother, businessman John Carter. The Carters are co-owners of Carter Brothers, LLC, an Atlanta-based electronic security, fire and life safety firm. The mission of Cater Brothers Charities is to provide financial support to organizations whose primary focus is to empower victims of domestic violence and homelessness through intervention, advocacy, and education. The advancement of underprivileged youth through mentoring and educating is another core value of the organization. The three benefactor organizations for the 2009 tournament are Hosea Feed the Hungry & Homeless, Haven House, and the Henry County YMCA.

"Even in such challenging economic times, it is still necessary to give back to our communities," said Cris Carter. In 2008, Carter Brothers Charities donated $40,500 to worthy causes in Ohio and Atlanta. The 2007 Charity Golf Classic raised enough funds for Carter Brothers Charities to partner with international hunger relief organization Feed the Children to deliver a semi-trailer truck full of food and personal care items to 800 Georgia and Ohio families in need.

Over the years, the Golf Classic has grown into a tremendous opportunity for Carter Brothers Charities' supporters and corporate partners to enjoy golf, camaraderie, and networking while supporting organizations striving to improve their communities.
