The First Tee of Augusta has announced the line-up for the 2nd Annual Drive for Show, Rock Fore! Dough concert. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 4, during the week of the Masters Tournament.
Multi-platinum recording artists and golf enthusiasts, Collective Soul and Hootie & the Blowfish will headline this year's event. In addition to performances by featured artists Better Than Ezra and Emerson Hart of Tonic and local favorites, the edison project, Mike Mills of R.E.M. will host the evening's festivities.
All proceeds of Drive for Show, Rock Fore! Dough concert will go to support The First Tee of Augusta, the Augusta chapter of The First Tee Network. The First Tee of Augusta provides learning facilities and educational programs that promote character-development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Its focus is to give young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through golf and character education, values such as honesty, integrity and sportsmanship. The First Tee of Augusta was established in 2001 and is locally owned and operated by FORE! Augusta Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds and oversees the operation of the facility.
"Rock Fore! Dough is a wonderful event that we launched last year that brings some of today's music pioneers together with the Masters, golf fans and the Augusta community to celebrate a good cause," adds Jill Brown Executive Director of The First Tee.
Since its inception in 1997, The First Tee Network has opened more then 200 learning facilities worldwide; established over 335 affiliate relationships with existing golf courses and introduced over 303,000 young people to the game of golf and its inherent positive values.
"I have a 7-year-old son and some of my favorite moments have taken place with him and me on the golf course. It's an honor for Collective Soul to be part of this event and especially help kids," adds Collective Soul vocalist, Ed Roland.
