Falcon's Fire Completes Renovation

Falcon's Fire Golf Club, a Rees Jones-designed course in Kissimmee, has completed renovations that have upgraded the 18-hole public facility in Central Florida.

The enhancements include new greens with TifEagle Bermuda grass, reshaped of bunkers and improved greens irrigation and drainage. The course was also over-seeded in preparation for the 2010 season.

Marriott Golf has assumed management of Falcon's Fire. The company will oversee all aspects of the club operation, including course maintenance, instructional programs, food and beverage services and overall programming. In conjunction with its commitment to environmental stewardship, Marriott will pursue certification through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program.

Steve Schaller has been named general manager at Falcon's Fire. A Class "A" Member of the PGA of America, Schaller has been with the Marriott Golf for 25 years where he has served at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Golf Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, Calif., and Westfields Golf Club in Clifton, Va.

"Falcon's Fire has been a favorite of travelers and locals since it opened in 1993, and the recent facelift, highlighted by restoring the greens to original specifications, will allow Falcon's Fire to once again restore its rightful place as the best place to play in Central Florida," Schaller said.

Located just three miles east of Walt Disney World's main gate, Falcon's Fire Golf Club boasts a challenging layout with four sets of tees. Stretching nearly 7,000 yards from the tips, the par-72 course has received multiple awards, including a four star rating from Golf Digest as well as consideration as one of Florida's top-rated public facilities in multiple publications.

In addition to golf, Falcon's Fire has a clubhouse that contains the Falcon's Nest restaurant and a 200-seat banquet facility. For more information, call 407/239-5445 or visit www.falconsfire.com.
