Driving 4 Life to Celebrate $2 Million Milestone |
|
The second annual Driving 4 Life Invitational will be held September 12 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. A number of corporations have joined with presenting sponsor Celgene to make the fund-raising event a resounding success.
The day-long event will mark a $2 million milestone for the organization. The funds are raised for ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) research and to help celebrate the lives and legacy of the campaign’s founders, former PGA Tour player Jeff Julian, and Bruce Edwards, Tom Watson’s long-time caddie. These two men used their celebrity to raise funds for critical research into a cure for the disease that claimed both of their lives last year.
Sponsors include Philips Lighting, Callaway Golf, and many others. Joining the field at Trump National will be Court TV anchorman Jack Ford, ESPN sports personality John Buccigross, and best-selling author and sports columnist Carl Vigeland.
Players and guests will be treated to a special tribute to Jeff and Bruce during a cocktail reception, followed by a dinner and awards ceremony where the 2005 "Driving 4 Life Awards" will be distributed. Recipients include New Jersey Acting Governor Richard A. Codey, PGA Tour professional Luke Donald, and ALS patient Chris Martin.
