Coyote Creek Continues to Draw Attention

Coyote Creek Golf Club, a 36-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature facility located near San Jose in Morgan Hill, Calif., continues to draw attention for its challenging golf and excellent service. In late April 2004, the course was nominated as the area’s “Best Golf Course” by the Silicon Valley Concierge Association.

Coyote Creek was one of three courses nominated for the award, which recognizes the overall quality of experience provided to golfers. The award will be presented at the Second Annual Hospitality Awards ceremony on April 27. It represents the highest honor given by the area’s leisure industry.

“We work hard to provide the best possible experience for everyone that plays here,” says Eric Jacobsen, general manager at Coyote Creek. ”It’s an honor to be nominated for such a prestigious award, particularly by a organization whose focus is putting hospitality first.”

Formerly the host site for the Champions Tour’s Siebel Classic, Coyote Creek is popular among Silicon Valley and Bay Area golfers for its mountain views and countryside terrain. The public facility includes a complete practice area with driving range, chipping area and putting green, as well as a clubhouse containing a pro shop and dining area.

Coyote Lake features the Tournament and Valley courses. Located just off Highway 101 and arrayed across the lower slopes of the Diablo Range, the par-72, Nicklaus-designed Tournament Course reflects the rolling contours of the surrounding hillsides. Playing 7,027 yards from the tips, the course features several risk-reward holes, but has five tee positions on each hole to accommodate golfers of all abilities. The course’s finishing hole is a 433-yard par-4 bordered along the entire right side by a lake visible from the clubhouse.

To the west, the Valley Course measures 7,066 yards from the back tees and includes a series of four lakes and two waterfalls that act as the focus for the closing holes. Featuring wide landing areas and a variety of scenery, this popular layout offers four sets of tees on every hole.
