Coston Wins Northwest Club Pro Title

Jeff Coston of Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club in Blaine, Wash., came through with a wire-to-wire victory in the Pacific Northwest Section Club Professional Championship. Coston’s remarkable first round, an 8-under-par 63 at the usually tough 6,600-yard course at Spokane Country Club, paved the way for his win.
Coston finished with 69-68 for a 13-under 200 total. The victory was worth $4,400 for the former PGA Tour player. Thanks to a closing 66, Tracy Vest of The Oregon Golf Club in West Linn finished alone in second, seven strokes behind Coston at 207. Vest won $3,000.
The top 19 players in the event advance to the Western Regional PGA Club Professional Championship to be held at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club in Olympia, Wash., on October 18-19.
