Chisel Creek Golf Club
Boasting a mix of open links and tight, tree-lined fairways, Chisel Creek Golf Club in Landenberg, Pennsylvania debuted in 2000. Set on 125 acres, the par-70 18-hole layout was designed by Delaware native Bill Hirsch Jr. Measuring 6,317 yards from the back tees, the layout is relatively free of peripheral development, with only 10 fairway-side homes. The course’s signature hole may be the 3rd, a par-3 with an island green.
With Chisel Creek, owner John Boxler turned his one-time family farm into a tough track rife with hazards and assorted shot options. Boxler co-developed the course with Chisel Creek Partners LLC, which now operates the course. Golf activities are conducted out of a 10,000-foot clubhouse created by Madison Designs. Clubhouse amenities include a pro shop, restaurant/bar, and large deck overlooking the 18th hole, a putting green and practice facility.
Chisel Creek lies a mile down Appleton Road off Highway 896 North near the University of Delaware. For a tee time, call 610/255-3432.
