Bondaruk Named Northern Cal PGA Teacher of the Year

Bill Bondaruk of Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln, Calif., has been named the Northern California PGA Teacher of the Year for his commitment to providing quality golf instruction. Bondaruk received the award on December 11th at Silverado Country Club and Resort in Napa. More than 270 PGA golf professionals, industry leaders and guests were in attendance at the awards ceremony sponsored by ILT Golf Vacations.
Bondaruk’s dedication to teaching juniors at the Nike camps he helped develop at Catta Verdera, and his support of the “Hook a Kid on Golf” camps – which attracted more than 100 juniors this season, are a few of the reasons for his recognition. Bondaruk also expanded adult instructional programs and added corporate golf schools at Catta Verdera, which improved golf performance and helped foster stronger working relationships between students and their clients on and off the course.
“When it comes to golf instruction, Bill is both creative and progressive,” said NCPGA Awards Chairman Jay McDaniel. “Through the use of video technology he’s able to capture swing images that help advance the learning process for his students. He strives in finding find new methods that help his students get in touch with their game in a non-threatening way.”
Bondaruk has written his first book, “7mythsofgolf.com,” which he describes as a video-enhanced learning system. The book focuses on everything from the traditional methodology of a golf swing, to less conventional concepts related to how spiritual healing can help unleash the athlete within.
Recognized as a “Top Teacher” by the “Northern California Golf Guide” published by Sacramento Magazine, Bondaruk shares his swing knowledge with others by writing golf tips for local newspapers and providing instructional articles viewed on www.PGA.com.

Bondaruk stays connected to his community by volunteering at the NCPGA Play Golf America Day, and through his support of Special Olympics and Chip-in for Charity, a non-profit organization that raises funds for other charities. Bondaruk shared his teaching philosophy with other PGA teaching professionals at the 2007 NCPGA Player & Teacher Development Forum set for January 8-9 in Sacramento.
