Blanchard Course Sold

Rumors are flying after Stoneridge Golf Course & Country Club in Blanchard, Idaho was sold to Salt Lake City investors. Current owner Keith Garner plans to sell the property to CDS Development, a subsidiary of CDS Investments, Inc. Although the principals of CDS have not been named, the sale was finalized March 30.

The sale involves 500 acres of club property, including 11 existing condos and approximately 60 platted lots in the San Souci Development. The new owners plan to change the name of the course and make $2.5 million in renovations. The course will close in April and remain shut down until May 2002 while it undergoes the renovations.

The rumors, which the developers would neither confirm nor deny to Cybergolf, include the following: Former San Francisco 49ers player Steve Young may be a possible investor. “Can’t comment on that yet,” said Roger Sanders, vice-president of CDS development. What about whisperings that plans are to turn this course into one that might attract a PGA Tour event? “Our objective is to provide one of the top golf course experiences in the area,” Sanders said.
