Bear Creek Country Club

This private club lies north of Washington’s “Silicon Valley” of Redmond, Bellevue and Woodinville. Consistently rated as the second toughest course in the Puget Sound region, the facility has hosted many major events since its opening in 1982. Among these are the McDonald's Golf Challenge, featuring PGA Tour stars Greg Norman and Mark O'Meara.

Designed by Jack Frei, Bear Creek winds over varied topography that involves tree-lined fairways, hills, wetlands and other interest-piquing ground features. In addition, water hazards (lakes, canals and Bear Creek) and dozens of white-sand bunkers imperil the golfer’s quest for par. From the tips, Bear Creek stretches 6,964 yards, where it boasts a 74.9 rating and 136 slope.

Besides a well-conditioned but difficult course, members are treated to a spacious full-service clubhouse, a grass-teed driving range, and sundry tournaments and special events throughout the year. For membership information, call 425/883-4770 or go online to www.bearcreekcc.com.
