2008 Portland Golf Show Set to Start
The 2008 Portland Golf Show will be held February 8-10 at the Oregon Convention Center. Endorsed by the Oregon Golf Association, the show will offer more than $75 in giveaways and excellent deals on the latest products and services, including free rounds of golf at Camas Meadows Golf Club east of Vancouver, Wash., and The Resort at the Mountain east of Portland; a free subscription to either Golf Digest or Golf for Women magazines; a free two-ball sleeve courtesy of Bridgestone; plus coupons for golf apparel, merchandise and more.
Once inside, attendees can try out a new club at the Oregon Golf Demo Zone, buy it at the lowest price of the season in the Oregon Golf Superstore, learn how to properly stretch out with help from Oregon Health & Science University experts, then show off newfound skills to win prizes in the many contests and interactive games throughout the show.
This year also marks quadrennial changes to the Rules of Golf, so the OGA will be on hand to provide seminars to review the changes. Visitors can also meet Barb Trammell, the OGA's new Chief Executive Officer who's an internationally respected Rules expert and official at the Masters, the U.S. Open and British Open.
This year's show is offering the chance for to receive hands-on instruction from some of the area's leading golf professionals in the KXL/Tourism Malaysia Free Lesson Area, while the Stanford's and Newport Seafood Grill Main Stage will provide a continuous program of sports therapists, swing instructors, club-fitters and more.
Additional highlights include:
