THE TEDDY HARRIS BASKETBALL CLASSIC On Sunday, August 3rd 2003, the First Annual Teddy Harris Basketball Classic was held at Chew Playground in South Philadelphia. The 3 games featured players in 3 different age groups from both sides of the Delaware River. This “South Philly” versus “South Jersey” game was started by the Harris Family to give the young men a chance to branch out and meet people who live different lives in different places and also to showcase their basketball skills. The main purpose of the event is to encourage people to get involved in their communities and to “Give Back” whenever the opportunity arises. Co-sponsored by: .
