Deerfield Chef Paul Honored Again By American Academy of Chefs
Chef Paul O'Toole CEC/AAC has been honored again by the American Academy of Chefs, receiving the 2012 Northeast Region "Cutting Edge" Award. This award is presented to industry leaders as recognition for their service to the culinary profession. "Chef Paul continues to be a leader that garners both regional and national recognition for his talents," noted Steve Furman, General Manager. "We are pleased, but not surprised, by this recent honor."

Deerfield Deerfield's "BB" Event Results From 4/20/12
First Place was nabbed by Leon Turulski and Sandi Manfredi with a net 57. Second was earned by Tom Milowicki and Bill Meagher with a net 61 (match of cards). Third place was claimed by Steve Bernhardt and Michael Chajes who also carded a net 61 (match of cards.) Closest to the Pin on Hole #16 was won by Rick Hardy. Congratulations, all!
Deerfield "Day At Deerfield" Set For Urban Promise School Students
Chef Paul O'Toole, CEC/AAC and the Deerfield Staff will be hosting over 60 students from Urban Promise School in Wilmington. Their tour will include games, golf cart tours of the course, pony rides, a cooking demonstration, a lunch buffet and more. Deerfield Par Three Hole-In-One Challenge Winners
In the Men's Gross Division, Ron Malkin grabbed first with 58. Bill Meagher (60) and Rick Byrne (61) won second and third respectively. In the Men's Net Division, Bill Garner claimed the top spot with 53, while Dave Kreps (55) got second and Scott Altumus (55) won third on a match of cards. Connie Mullen (78) won first on a match of cards against Jennifer Byrne (78) in the Ladies Division. Sandy Manfredi earned first in the Ladies Net Division with a 58, while Nina Dawson earned second with a 62. Bill Lehnert won the day's Closest To The Pin Prize on #16. Thanks to all who particpated!
Deerfield 2011 Club Championship Results
Congratulations to Ladies Club Champion Carolyn Henry, Runner Up Jing Li, and Flight Champion Nina Dawson. The winner of the Junior Championship was Wesley Price. The Men's Championship was snared by Jesse Betts, while Ron Malkin took the Runner Up spot. The First Flight was claimed by Tom Franceschini, with Jim Boyce the First Flight's Runner Up. The Second Flight was won by Mike Davis, with Isaac Rice earning the Runner Up Award. Finally, Matt McCormack earned the Third Flight win while Tim Foster claimed the Third Flight's Runner Up position.
Deerfield Par Three $100,000 Hole In One Challenge
Are you feeling lucky? Play in the Par Three/$100,000 Hole In One Challenge! Friday August 12th - 7am Tee Times This format uses a modified course setup in which every hole on the course is set up as a par three! The holes will vary in length and difficulty. Par for the event is a score of 54. In addition, one of the Par Three holes will be set up as a chance to win $100,000 for any player that makes a hole in one during the event! Gross and Adjusted Net Scores will be used. Prizes will be awarded in Golf Shop Credit/Merchandise. This event is open to passholders and welcome public guests. Congratulations to Chef Paul O'Toole CEC/AAC who successfully defended his title at the 2nd Annual "Cecil's Cookin'" Chefs Challenge. The event, hosted by the Union Hospital Foundation, raised about $7,000 toward a new family-friendly Emergency Room. The State of Delaware's Division of Parks and Recreation has selected Forewinds Hospitality to be the interim operator of Garrisons Lake Golf Club in Smyrna, DE. “The interim agreement with Forewinds Hospitality is good news for the Garrisons Lake golfers,” said Charles Salkin, Director of the Division of Parks and Recreation.
